Plumbing Inspection in Little River, SC
In Little River, 35% of owner households arrived in 2018 or later — a high rate, and one that means a large share of the housing has been through an inspection recently enough for somebody to remember it.
The one-paragraph answer
35% of owner households in Little River moved in during 2018 or later. On a turnover rate that high the question is rarely whether an inspection happened but what it was allowed to cover, and the buried sewer lateral is excluded by both standards of practice.

When Little River moved in
A town that moves this much has a lot of reports in circulation, and reports get reused as reassurance long after the visit. What was outside the scope on the day is still outside it now.
| Owner households in Little River | Share of all owners |
|---|---|
| Moved in 2021 or later | 12% |
| Moved in 2018–2020 | 23% |
| Moved in 2010–2017 | 33% |
| Moved in before 2010 | 31% |
Source: US Census Bureau, American Community Survey 5-year estimates, table B25038 (tenure by year householder moved into unit), 2023 release. Universe: 9,787 occupied housing units, of which 7,832 are owner-occupied. This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.
What the inspection will not cover
Wells, pumps, pressure tanks, storage tanks and filters are excluded by both standards. On a property with its own supply, the equipment feeding the whole house sits outside the inspection carried out on it.

What it is required to cover
InterNACHI requires the location of the main water shut-off and the main fuel shut-off to be described, and whether the supply is public or private. Those are the three lines worth copying out of the report on the day you get it, because nobody looks them up until they are standing in water.
The full list of obligations is published here. Reading it once is what stops a standard note from looking like a finding.
What to do about it
Ask a contractor what would have to be opened up to answer the question, rather than asking for a number. A quote given without that step is a guess with a figure attached to it.
The two standards are published in full and worth ten minutes: what is excluded, what is covered, and why the drains outside the house are a separate instruction.
