Plumbing Inspection in Mount Tremper, NY

Mount Tremper rarely changes hands — 13% of owner households arrived in 2018 or later. The upside is stability. The other side of it is that nothing has triggered an inspection in most of these houses for years.

The one-paragraph answer

Mount Tremper is settled, with 13% of owner households having moved in since 2018. The plumbing most likely to matter in a house held that long is the part no standard inspection covers, which is the buried sewer lateral.

PresalePipe is a referral service, not a contractor or a home inspector. We connect homeowners and buyers with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no inspections and no work, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

When Mount Tremper moved in

In a town this settled the report is likelier to matter to a seller than a buyer. Knowing what is there before somebody else looks is the whole of the advantage.

This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.

What the inspection will not cover

Clothes washer connections are excluded, which surprises people because the machine is in the house and plumbed into it. The supply valves behind it and the standpipe it drains into were not part of the job.

What it is required to cover

The fixtures are a live test rather than a look. InterNACHI requires the inspector to run the water at every faucet, flush every toilet, and check that every sink, tub and shower drains; ASHI requires functional flow and functional drainage. If a fault shows up in ordinary use, this is the part of the inspection that finds it.

The covered list in full. Most people read the exclusions and stop; the two only mean anything against each other.

What to do about it

Where a report says a condition was observed but its extent could not be established, that is the sentence to act on. It means the boundary of the inspection was reached, not that the problem is small.

Before you accept a report, read what it did not have to cover against what it did. Then decide whether the drains outside need their own visit.
