Plumbing Inspection in Bouckville, NY

In Bouckville, just 0% of owner-occupied homes have changed hands since 2018. A low rate has a consequence people miss: an inspection is the one moment a house gets examined, and most of these have not had one recently.

The one-paragraph answer

Homes in Bouckville rarely change hands — only 0% of owner households moved in during 2018 or later — so an inspection there is usually of a house somebody has lived in for years. The buried sewer lateral is still outside both published standards of practice.

PresalePipe is a referral service, not a contractor or a home inspector. We connect homeowners and buyers with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no inspections and no work, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

When Bouckville moved in

Where houses stay put, an inspection is a rare event, and the report on file — if there is one — describes a building that has since had a decade or more of ordinary use.

This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.

What the inspection will not cover

Lawn irrigation is excluded. It is buried, it is seasonal, and it is connected to the same supply as the house — which makes it the one excluded item that can affect something the inspection did cover.

What it is required to cover

InterNACHI requires the location of the main water shut-off and the main fuel shut-off to be described, and whether the supply is public or private. Those are the three lines worth copying out of the report on the day you get it, because nobody looks them up until they are standing in water.

Worth ten minutes before you read your own report: everything the two standards require, in the order an inspector does it.

What to do about it

If you are selling, establish it before somebody else does. The same finding is worth more to a buyer who discovered it than to one who was told.

Both standards are public. Start with the exclusions, then the obligations, and read the sewer scope separately — it is ordered on its own for a reason.

New York issues no state plumbing license. New York City licenses Master and Journeyman Plumbers through the Department of Buildings; elsewhere in the state it is your own city, town or county. Start here. Ask the contractor which municipality licenses them and confirm it with that office before work begins.
