Plumbing Inspection in Cedar Grove, NC
17% of owner-occupied homes in Cedar Grove have changed hands since 2018. That is an ordinary rate, which makes the ordinary mistake more likely: assuming the inspection covered the plumbing.
The one-paragraph answer
Turnover in Cedar Grove sits near the middle, with 17% of owner households arriving in 2018 or later. The figure that actually matters is in the standards of practice: a home inspection covers what is visible and operable, and the buried sewer lateral is not.

When Cedar Grove moved in
With turnover near the middle, roughly one owner in five or six arrived recently. For everyone else the last time the plumbing was examined by a third party was whenever they bought.
| Owner households in Cedar Grove | Share of all owners |
|---|---|
| Moved in 2021 or later | 2% |
| Moved in 2018–2020 | 15% |
| Moved in 2010–2017 | 22% |
| Moved in before 2010 | 61% |

Universe: 993 occupied housing units, of which 791 are owner-occupied. This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.
What the inspection will not cover
Neither standard requires an inspector to determine water flow, pressure, quality or potability. A report can be entirely clean on a house whose water arrives at a pressure nobody would live with, because that was never a defect it was looking for.

What it is required to cover
The covered list is shorter than the excluded one and it is not thin. Every fixture run, every toilet flushed, the drain-waste-vent system described, the water heater and its venting examined, the shut-offs located. That is a real morning of work and it is worth knowing it happened.
The covered list in full. Most people read the exclusions and stop; the two only mean anything against each other.
What to do about it
Write down where the main water shut-off and the main fuel shut-off are. InterNACHI requires both locations to be described, and they are the two most useful lines in the document.
Ten minutes of reading covers it: what nobody was required to look at, what they were, and the drain run that is a separate instruction altogether.
