Plumbing Inspection in East Point, KY

Only 16% of the people who own a home in East Point bought it in 2018 or later. Where houses stay in the same hands, systems get older without anybody being obliged to look at them.

The one-paragraph answer

East Point is settled, with 16% of owner households having moved in since 2018. The plumbing most likely to matter in a house held that long is the part no standard inspection covers, which is the buried sewer lateral.

PresalePipe is a referral service, not a contractor or a home inspector. We connect homeowners and buyers with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands. Every state page sets out who licenses plumbers there and where to check, so you can confirm before work begins. We carry out no inspections and no work, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call.

When East Point moved in

The consequence of a low turnover figure is not that the housing is worse. It is that far fewer people here have ever had a third party examine their plumbing, and the ones who did, did it a long time ago.

Universe: 559 occupied housing units, of which 442 are owner-occupied. This counts when the CURRENT occupant moved in, so it measures recent moves as a share of the housing stock — not a rate of sales per year.

What the inspection will not cover

Wells, pumps, pressure tanks, storage tanks and filters are excluded by both standards. On a property with its own supply, the equipment feeding the whole house sits outside the inspection carried out on it.

What it is required to cover

The fixtures are a live test rather than a look. InterNACHI requires the inspector to run the water at every faucet, flush every toilet, and check that every sink, tub and shower drains; ASHI requires functional flow and functional drainage. If a fault shows up in ordinary use, this is the part of the inspection that finds it.

The full covered list, and why the distinction between the two lists is the whole of reading a report properly.

What to do about it

Where a report says a condition was observed but its extent could not be established, that is the sentence to act on. It means the boundary of the inspection was reached, not that the problem is small.

Before you accept a report, read what it did not have to cover against what it did. Then decide whether the drains outside need their own visit.
